Join Seattle-area women journalists to talk about the unplanned twists and turns of life as a journalist. This is a chance to brainstorm with women at all stages of their journalism careers about career strategies (or improvisations) and how they are navigating the disrupted world of today's news industry.

Chat with local JAWS members including Linda Kramer Jenning, who was a journalist with the Associated Press, CBS affiliate KOIN-TV, TIME, People and Glamour, before becoming an adjunct professor at Georgetown; and Evelyn Iritani, who was a reporter with the Seattle P-I and the LA Times before becoming a book author. And enjoy a guest appearance by Nancy Day, who was an editor and reporter for the AP, the San Francisco Examiner and the Chicago Sun-Times and was a Nieman Fellow and chair of the journalism department at Columbia College Chicago.

The event will be Hosted in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood by JAWS member Sara Jamshidi, a former public radio reporter who founded the Goltune news site, focusing on modest fashion and news of interest to Muslim women. We’ll have drinks and snacks provided by Seattle JAWS members.
