The pen is mightier than the sword, especially when it is in the hands of a skillful political cartoonist, such as Steve Artley. Based in Alexandria, VA, he skewers the foibles of the world with his bold and powerful strokes.

Come join SPJ and JAWS members from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, for a program co-sponsored by the DC Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, the American Society of Journalists and Authors, and the Institute on Political Journalism. Host for the event is the Institute on Political Journalism at 1706 New Hampshire Ave NW, DC 20009 near the DuPont Circle METRO. Light refreshments will be served.

A highlight of the evening will be a drawing for an original cartoon, donated by the artist.

Tickets are $5.
